One to One Support
Being a carer can mean dealing with an entire range of life issues on the behalf of the person you care for. Managing everything from housing to making appointments is often part of the caring role, but it can feel daunting, challenging and sometimes overwhelming.
Our friendly team of professional Support Workers specialise supporting carers. They are on hand to provide advice, guidance, and an entire range of emotional and practical support to reduce the impact of the caring role on emotional and mental wellbeing. Some of the more practical assistance they provide includes:
- Explaining the different types of benefits, you are entitled to and helping you to apply for them
- Helping with any housing issues you may have
- Helping with Council Tax issues
- Supporting you to apply for a blue badge or taxi cards if you are eligible
- Pointing you to the other expertise to help you when you are not sure who is the right person or organisation to speak to

One-to-one support is a free and flexible service that adapts to suit you. This service is free to unpaid carers within the Royal Borough of Greenwich and can support you over the telephone, face-to -face at our Carers Centre, at a community location of your choice, or with a home visit if that is what you need.
